City South Church is a really new church with a really old story to share. It’s a story that we want to be known by. It’s a compelling one that constantly re-shapes & changes us.

This is the story of God’s unfathomable love for and relentless pursuit of a people for Himself.  So it’s more than just an ancient story anchored in a real place and time – it’s actually personal – it’s about a person called Jesus.

It’s the story of how Jesus brings us and God together.  In this crazy mixed up world we can’t say we have it all together but we know for certain that God does, and that in amazing ways through His Son Jesus, he includes ordinary people such as you and me.

We are so glad it’s not a story telling us to try to deserve God, to please God, or even try to find God. Rather it’s one where He comes after us in grace and love and mercy.

It is a great story, and importantly it’s true!

Home Groups

Home Groups meet fortnightly and are a great way for the church family to grow closer to God and closer to each other.

Youth Group

Our growing bunch of youth meet each fortnight with a mix of fun activities and bible-based teaching. Contact us for more information.

Sunday school

Proverbs 22:6 says we should “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Sunday School runs during the school term for 3-12 years old.

God's Word

We centre our corporate times around reading and teaching from the Bible.

We love to get to know people over morning tea or Fellowship Lunch (held on the first Sunday of the month) after the service.

We join together to worship God through singing, praying, giving, and sharing.

We are led in times of prayer to our Lord throughout the service.

Pastor Ian and Marg Wright

I was blessed to be raised in a home where my Dad and Mum taught their children the message of the Bible. I became a Christian at ten years of age when I prayed asking God’s forgiveness and put my hope in the wonderful truth that Jesus died in my place for my sin. I grew up in Gatton and was trained by my Dad to be a watchmaker. The Lord blessed me with a wonderful wife, Margaret, and I went on to undertake theological training. We are blessed with four sons, three daughters-in-law, and twelve grandchildren. We have served the Lord in churches at Dalby, Gympie, and inner Brisbane, as well as co-ordinating Chaplaincy with Queensland Baptists and serving as CEO of Barnabas Fund Australia. We are amazed by God’s grace in leading us to now be serving Him at City South with a wonderful gathering of loving, joyful, and committed followers of Jesus.
